KUALA LUMPUR, January 14 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he is confident party members fully support Umno’s continued participation in the unity government, on the eve of its general assembly tomorrow.
He stressed that remaining in government is a collective party decision, not a personal stance, adding that the position has been discussed and endorsed previously by Umno’s political bureau, supreme council and general assembly.
Ahmad Zahid said Umno’s role in strengthening the unity government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be upheld by both party members and its 26 Members of Parliament.
The four-day Umno General Assembly 2025 begins tomorrow and runs until January 17, after being postponed twice last year to allow preparations for the Sabah state election.
