GENTING HIGHLANDS, January 19 – Pahang is aiming to welcome 15 million domestic and international tourists this year, leveraging its strong reputation as Malaysia’s leading eco-tourism destination, said state unity, tourism and culture committee chair Leong Yu Man.
Speaking at an international tourist welcoming event at Resorts World Genting today, she said the state is also targeting RM12 billion in tourism revenue after arrivals surpassed 11.5 million by September last year.

With a national survey showing 34.3 per cent of respondents choosing Pahang as their preferred destination for natural escapes, particularly the cool highlands of Genting. Resorts World Genting continues to be a cornerstone of Pahang’s tourism strategy.
Having attracted more than 20 million visitors in 2025, and is set to play a key role ahead of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. The resort’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and public relations Spencer Lee said new attractions such as Eufloria.

Malaysia’s largest greenhouse-based eco- and edu-tourism project, alongside the return of the Awana Golf Course. Are expected to boost arrivals from key markets including Singapore, China, India, Indonesia, Korea and Japan, strengthening Pahang’s appeal as a sustainable and world-class destination.
