PUTRAJAYA, January 31 — The Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) today announced the appointment of Encik Mohammad Faisal bin Abu Suaib Khan as its new Director General, effective January 19, 2026, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in corporate and digital communications, tourism, and event management.

As well as deep involvement in destination-led initiatives including the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, as ITC positions itself for its next phase of growth in the global Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality (MFTH) ecosystem, a market projected to reach USD235 billion by 2030.

Mohammad Faisal said his focus will be on strengthening Malaysia’s role as a regional umrah hub and expanding the global reach of the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality Assurance and Recognition (MFAR), leveraging his strategic leadership, international exposure, fluency in Mandarin.

And strong stakeholder engagement to deliver long-term value to the tourism industry and the national economy.
