CYBERJAYA, January 31 – Communications Minister and government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil has urged government information officers to use simple, relatable language when explaining policies and assistance to the public, stressing that messages must suit local contexts rather than rely on formal “Putrajaya language.”
Speaking in Cyberjaya, he highlighted the need to tailor communication for different communities and to make better use of social media, text, and audio messaging, especially to reach youths and groups less inclined to read long statements. Fahmi also called for better training through the Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institut.
While noting ongoing efforts to improve online safety, including discussions with social media platforms and a planned meeting between MCMC and X to address misuse of the Grok AI application and protect users, particularly children, in Malaysia.
