KUALA LUMPUR, January 31 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today confirmed that his role overseeing the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) and Felda Global Ventures (FGV) has been formally appointed following the receipt of an official letter.
Expanding his previous informal involvement in assisting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Felda-related matters. Speaking after his winding-up speech at the Umno AGM 2025, Zahid said the responsibilities fall under the Prime Minister’s Department.
And that he plans to seek the prime minister’s approval to appoint a deputy minister, naming Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan as a potential candidate, to assist him in managing Felda affairs.
