GEORGE TOWN, February 4 — The Tanjong Parliamentary Service Centre hosted a Media Night at The Millen Hotel on Feb 2, bringing together members of the press in a relaxed setting to recognise their role in informing the public.
Tanjong MP and Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Lim Hui Ying expressed appreciation for the media’s continued commitment to fair, accurate and balanced reporting.
Describing the press as a key partner in democracy and a bridge between public policy and the people. The evening, attended by Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng, Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Wong Yuee Harng, representatives from the Padang Kota service centre, and MBPP councillors Nicholas Theng and Alan Lim.
Also highlighted the importance of open communication and trust between the government and media. Media practitioners enjoyed dinner, karaoke and a lucky draw featuring prizes including a cruise trip, electrical appliances and an iPad Air.
Reflecting the strong and ongoing partnership between the Tanjong parliamentary office and Penang’s media fraternity.
