HULU KELANG, February 8 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysians are free to voice opinions and criticism, but warned that any actions threatening national security would be met with “maximum action.”

Speaking at the Selangor PKR convention, Anwar said he had issued firm instructions during the Cabinet’s weekly meeting, stressing that while dissent is part of a free society, incitement, sabotage or taking the law into one’s own hands would not be tolerated and would result in arrests and strict enforcement.

Anwar also reiterated that all places of worship must comply with existing laws and regulations, regardless of religion, and said the Cabinet continues to deliberate on pressing socio-economic issues such as jobs and education.

Emphasising PKR’s multiracial foundation, he said the party remains committed to representing and defending the rights of all communities, adding that inclusive governance is essential to maintaining national harmony and stability.
