KUALA LUMPUR, February 11 — DAP’s Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng has called on the Public Services Department to publicly clarify whether Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Tan Sri Azam Baki breached the 2024 government circular limiting civil servants’ shareholdings to 5% of a company’s paid-up capital or RM100,000,

Stressing that integrity, accountability, and transparency are crucial for such a high-profile position. Lim said if Azam acted within the rules, he is entitled to pursue legal action against media reports questioning his holdings in Velocity Capital Bhd and Awanbiru Technology Berhad.

Valued at over RM1 million collectively, but if he violated the circular, the government must explain any disciplinary measures, consider a special inquiry, and assess whether he can continue in his role as MACC chief.
