KUALA LUMPUR, February 12 — Senator YB Amir Hj Md Ghazali has endorsed Nurul Izzah Anwar’s call for stronger oversight of Malaysia’s anti-corruption agency, stressing that proposals for an independent monitoring body aim to enhance SPRM’s credibility.
Protect the integrity of honest officers, and prevent abuse of power, rather than weaken anti-corruption efforts; highlighting that public confidence in enforcement depends not only on arrests or investigations.
But on transparent, accountable, and fair processes, with international examples showing that agencies supported by independent oversight enjoy higher effectiveness and trust.
