State Police Chief CP Datuk Azizee Ismail said about two million vehicles are expected to enter and exit Penang during the festive period, with 380 traffic officers deployed under a “Pre-Emptive Services and Total Enforcement” approach to manage congestion and reduce accidents.

Enforcement will focus on accident-prone and congestion hotspots including Jalan Teluk Air Tawar–Jalan Bagan Luar, Jalan Perusahaan Perai–Jalan Kulim, Jalan Besar Simpang Empat, Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway, Jalan Ayer Itam–Paya Terubong, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Jalan Tun Dr Awang.

Motorists are urged to obey traffic laws, avoid speeding, phone use and drink-driving, ensure vehicles are roadworthy, plan journeys carefully, and inform nearby police stations or use the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) app if leaving homes unattended.
