KUALA LUMPUR, February 13 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim highlighted that government enforcement against illegal gambling has resulted in seizures worth billions of ringgit, as efforts to curb such activities are intensified nationwide.
Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat, Anwar acknowledged challenges posed by overseas-based online operators using sophisticated digital systems that allow rapid resumption of operations, but stressed that the government remains committed to both enforcement.
And raising public awareness to uphold accountability and plug revenue leakages, complementing broader fiscal consolidation measures.
