GEORGE TOWN, February 13 — E&O Berhad has announced that a traffic diversion at the Gurney Roundabout heading towards Persiaran Gurney will take effect from 13 February 2026 to facilitate upgrading works in line with road and drainage plans approved by the Penang State Government.
The diversion is aimed at ensuring the safety of road users while improvement works are carried out at the roundabout. Under the new traffic arrangement, vehicles heading to Gurney Roundabout towards Persiaran Gurney will be diverted towards Pulau Andaman.
Before making a U-turn via the elongated roundabout located near the Gurney Bridge to rejoin Persiaran Gurney. Directional signages and traffic control personnel will be stationed at strategic locations, particularly during the initial phase.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution, follow instructions on-site and plan their journeys in advance, especially during peak hours.
