BAYAN LEPAS, February 20 — The Penang chapter of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) hosted its MADANI Chinese New Year 2026 Open House at Wisma Keadilan Pulau Pinang in Bayan Baru on Wednesday, February 18, drawing party members, leaders and members of the public to celebrate the festive occasion.
Held from 3pm to 5pm on the second day of the Lunar New Year, the event featured lively performances including singing acts and a lion dance, while children received ang pow. Guests were also treated to complimentary food such as satay, char kuey teow, laksa and ais kacang.
Among the dignitaries present were Penang Chief Minister and Pakatan Harapan state chairman Chow Kon Yeow, Education Minister and PKR Women’s chief Fadhlina Sidek, Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Sim Tze Tzin.
And China’s Consul General in Penang Zhou Youbin, along with other state and federal leaders. The gathering reflected the spirit of unity and harmony in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations.
