PETALING JAYA, February 20 — Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli has announced he will address allegations linking him to RM2.5 billion in misconduct during a 10pm episode of the “Yang Berhenti Menteri” podcast tonight.
The former economy minister said the claims, raised by social media influencer Caprice, involve a 750-megawatt private solar project by UEM Lestra and a separate government agreement with semiconductor giant ARM Holdings.
Rafizi has denied any involvement in wrongdoing, describing the accusations as slander and stressing that the solar project was not under the economy ministry’s purview during his tenure. Rafizi said the two allegations, currently under investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Have been combined to create a narrative suggesting misappropriation totalling RM3.6 billion. Labeling the claims “absurd” and “overkill,” he remarked that the figures cited even exceed those linked to former prime minister Najib Razak.
He maintained that no evidence of personal enrichment has been presented publicly and vowed to provide a detailed explanation during the livestream, saying the allegations were exaggerated to provoke public outrage.
