PETALING JAYA, February 21 — Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli appears to have little interest in mending ties with the current leadership of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), according to former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.
Speaking on the “Keluar Sekejap” podcast alongside Shahril Hamdan, Khairy suggested that Rafizi may even welcome being sacked from the party to claim the moral high ground and consolidate support around governance and anti-corruption themes.
Arguing that such a move would allow him to say he did not leave voluntarily. Shahril added that Rafizi seems prepared to challenge PKR’s direction and even criticise party president and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Signalling he may be positioning himself politically outside the current leadership structure. Rafizi has recently spoken out on issues including the controversy involving the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief.
While Anwar has said the government will await the outcome of a special task force investigation and cautioned against turning the party into a platform for persistent internal grievances.
