KUALA LUMPUR, February 23 — Muhyiddin Yassin has been appointed deputy chairman of Perikatan Nasional (PN) following the elevation of Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar as the coalition’s new chairman.
PN deputy secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the other deputy positions remain unchanged after Muhyiddin stepped down as chairman effective Jan 1.
Takiyuddin also confirmed that Abdul Hadi Awang has opted not to sit on the PN supreme council and will instead remain in the coalition’s presidential council.
The leadership changes mark a recalibration within PN’s top ranks as the bloc restructures following Samsuri’s appointment.
