GEORGE TOWN, February 26 — The Penang state government has approved a special Aidilfitri financial assistance (BKKA 2026), granting civil servants a minimum of RM1,000 or half a month’s salary, to be paid by March 16, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced.
In addition, teachers and staff of religious and independent schools, including KAFA, SRAR, SMAR, SABK, tahfiz, pondok, TADIS, and Chinese independent schools, will receive RM300 each, benefiting a total of 7,317 recipients with an estimated total outlay of RM8.49 million.
Chow said the assistance is a gesture of appreciation for the dedication of Penang’s public service workforce, supporting them during the Raya celebrations while acknowledging their contributions toward the state’s vision under Visi Penang2030.
