KUALA LUMPUR, February 27 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has launched an investigation into allegations of a plot to topple the government and sabotage national stability, reportedly involving a prominent local figure and an international media agency.

Inspector-General of Police Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed that a police report was received on Thursday and that investigations are underway. The case is being handled by the Classified Criminal Investigation Unit (D5) under Section 124B of the Penal Code.
