KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 — The Ministry of Communications Malaysia has opened applications for Phase 3 of the Media Innovation Fund from March 1 to March 14, 2026, aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s media ecosystem.
The initiative supports innovation through training, technology adoption, equipment upgrades and research and development in content creation. Eligible applicants include local government and private media organisations registered with the Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia.
And they must apply under Scope 1: Media Worker Training. The fund offers support in four key areas: training media personnel in new technologies and methodologies; adoption of automation tools and software for audio, video, AI and graphics production.
Acquisition of equipment and ICT facilities such as cameras, computers and mini studios; and R&D for innovative content development, including AI applications. Detailed guidelines and application procedures are available on the ministry’s official website beginning today.
