KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 – The main contractor for the LRT3 project is liable to pay RM474.8 million in Liquidated and Ascertained Damages (LAD) following a 174-day delay as of December 31, 2025.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the penalty was calculated based on a stipulated daily rate of RM2.7 million after the expiry of Extension of Time No. 2 on July 10, 2025.
Responding in the Dewan Rakyat, Loke said Prasarana Malaysia Berhad had received assurances from the contractor to resolve outstanding issues.
He added delays involved software delivery by Siemens, system integration testing and Fault Free Run trials.
