PUTRAJAYA, March 9 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has pledged that the government will make every effort to maintain the price of RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre to ease the burden on Malaysians.
Speaking at a gathering with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), Anwar noted that despite Brent crude oil reaching USD 100 per barrel, targeted subsidies have kept local fuel prices stable.
He also expressed appreciation for KPDN staff, highlighting their dedication in implementing programs such as the MADANI Rahmah Sales Program (PJRM) to help control the cost of living.
Anwar reaffirmed Malaysia’s support for Iran’s sovereignty following attacks by Israel and the United States, stressing the country’s consistent stance against aggression and violations of national independence.
While emphasizing the government’s focus on protecting Malaysian interests and minimizing economic impact from regional conflicts.
