SEOUL, March 9 — Rakuten Viki has expanded its programming slate with the launch of Bake Your Dream, South Korea’s first-ever baking survival series, marking the platform’s entry into the fast-growing culinary competition genre.
Featuring 72 contestants ranging from master artisans to underground bakers, the series offers a fresh take on the K-survival format by focusing on mentorship, personal growth, and emotional storytelling rather than pure elimination.
With the winner receiving long-term support to become a bakery entrepreneur under Michelin-starred guidance. Hosted by actress Lee Da-hee and boasting an international lineup that includes Italy’s Alessio Galli, France’s Clément Bosch, Indonesia’s top baker Carla Yuls.
And 14-year-old prodigy Gyurin Kim, Bake Your Dream premiered on February 1 and is now streaming on Viki across Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. The first two episodes are available free, with subsequent episodes exclusive to Viki Pass subscribers.
As the series blends heartfelt narratives with high-stakes competition to meet rising global demand for Korean culinary entertainment.
