KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 – The government will begin disbursing the second phase of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) to 5.2 million recipients starting March 10, 2026, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced.
The RM1.3 billion allocation, up from RM1.1 billion in Phase 1, includes 200,000 new beneficiaries who will receive payments from March 30. STR Phase 2 aims to support 3.8 million households and 1.4 million senior citizens without spouses.
With payments ranging from RM100 to RM600 based on eligibility. Recipients with bank accounts will receive direct credits, while cash payments will be made via Bank Simpanan Nasional branches for those without accounts, including in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
The program is part of the government’s broader social assistance initiative ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
