SEBERANG JAYA, March 12 – The Department of Social Welfare (JKM) has ordered the temporary closure of Taska Pintar at Hospital Seberang Jaya following the death of a four-month-old infant on March 9.
The baby, Hayl Haarith Mohd Syafaeez, was reportedly under the care of a caregiver at the childcare centre when the incident occurred. The infant had been enrolled at the facility for about a month after his mother began working at the hospital.
JKM officers conducted an initial investigation under the Child Act 2001 and the Child Care Centre Act 1984. Authorities have also provided psychosocial support to the family. Police are currently investigating the case, and JKM said strict action will be taken if any violations of regulations are found.
