KULIM, March 12 — Menicon Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s Menicon Co., Ltd., has officially launched its new RM1 billion smart manufacturing facility at Kulim Hi-Tech Park.
Marking the company’s most advanced production site globally and strengthening Malaysia’s position in high-value ophthalmic manufacturing.
The fully integrated smart factory enables large-scale, high-efficiency production of silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lenses for export to key markets including Japan, Germany and the United States.
While supporting technology transfer, high-skilled job creation and talent development aligned with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, according to Malaysian Investment Development Authority chief executive Datuk Sikh Shamsul Sikh Abdul Majid.
