KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 – DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has advised Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim not to publicly speculate on potential candidates for the state’s next chief minister.
Loke said the decision on the successor will only be determined by the party’s central leadership and announced after the Penang state assembly is dissolved. His remarks came after Sim previously mentioned several possible names.
Including state secretary Lim Hui Ying and Penang Port Commission chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin. Loke stressed that party leaders should focus on serving the people while respecting current Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who remains in office.
