KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said law enforcement alone is not enough to eradicate corruption, stressing the need to build a stronger culture of integrity and good governance.
He said combating corruption requires an integrated approach involving the public and private sectors, as well as society as a whole, to ensure anti-corruption efforts remain effective and sustainable.
Speaking after chairing the Special Cabinet Committee on National Governance meeting, Anwar said the government has agreed to implement the Certified Integrity Officer programme to strengthen governance practices.
He added that issues such as public fund leakages and abuse of power can undermine national governance and affect public well-being, including public health, the environment and national integrity.
