GEORGE TOWN, March 14 – Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Mohamad Abdul Hamid and the Penang Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) have threatened legal action against Bersatu activist.
Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, and three Penang PAS leaders over alleged defamatory statements. The group had claimed the council misappropriated funds and abused its authority.
Lawyers representing Mohamad and MAINPP said letters of demand have been issued, giving the four individuals seven days to apologise and stop repeating the allegations.
Mohamad denied the claims, describing them as malicious, and said legal action would be taken to protect the council’s reputation and integrity if the demands are not met.
