KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 – Amira Aisya Abd Aziz has been confirmed as the new president of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) for the 2026–2029 term following the party’s inaugural internal elections held during its Annual General Meeting in Petaling Jaya.
The Puteri Wangsa assemblywoman previously served as the party’s acting president after founder Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman stepped down in 2023.
The election saw 31 candidates contesting for 25 seats on Muda’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), with about 125 delegates casting their votes.
After the CEC members were elected, they convened to determine the party’s top leadership. Zaidel Baharuddin was appointed deputy president, while Faezrah Rizalman, Leben Siddarth, Zarul Afiq, Dobby Chew and Dr R. Siva Prakash were named vice-presidents.
Rasid Abu Bakar was appointed information chief and Ainie Haziqah remains secretary-general.
