KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 – The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry will reassess the country’s food supply after May following concerns over geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said supplies of essential items such as rice, chicken and vegetables remain sufficient for now, urging the public not to engage in panic buying.
He said the government is closely monitoring the food supply chain together with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry to prevent cartel activity or price manipulation.
Speaking at the launch of the Agro MADANI Sales Programme in Shah Alam, Mohamad added that the initiative offers daily necessitie.
At discounts of 10 to 30 per cent to help ease the cost of living while strengthening national food security.
