KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has welcomed Intel Corporation’s expansion in Malaysia, following briefings from CEO Lip-Bu Tan and the Intel team.
On the development of an advanced packaging, assembly, and testing complex. Executive VP Naga Chandrasekaran outlined plans to begin the first phase of operations for the facility later this year, marking a key step in Intel’s local investment strategy.

Anwar highlighted the importance of continuous training and skills enhancement for local talent across the semiconductor value chain.Aligning with the government’s MADANI economic vision to generate high-value jobs.
He affirmed that the MADANI government machinery will continue to facilitate strategic investments. Including initiatives under the National Semiconductor Strategy, to ensure long-term benefits and sustainable growth for Malaysia’s technology and manufacturing sectors.
