GEORGE TOWN, March 18 – Registration for the Aspen–Klippa Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) 2026 is now open, offering runners the opportunity to race across Southeast Asia’s longest bridge.
Early bird slots were met with overwhelming demand, prompting organisers to extend the deadline following temporary system issues. Limited to 1,000 entries per category, the event includes Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10km races.
A key highlight for 2026 is the introduction of new Elite Challenge Categories for both Full and Half Marathon, aimed at attracting competitive and professional runners. Participants in these categories will compete under stricter qualifying times and stand a chance to win official prize money.
Elevating PBIM’s status as both a mass and elite race event. PBIM 2026 also gains stronger international recognition, becoming part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors global framework while maintaining AIMS certification.
The event continues to boost Penang’s sports tourism, drawing thousands of local and international participants while supporting the state’s vibrant running community and economy.
