GEORGE TOWN, March 18 – The Penang Port Commission has announced free ferry services for all Malaysians on the first and second days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026.
The initiative covers routes between the Sultan Abdul Halim Ferry Terminal and Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal, aiming to ease travel during the festive period.
Chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said the move reflects a continued commitment to facilitate public mobility while reducing traffic congestion.
He added that the initiative also promotes more sustainable and efficient public transportation, encouraging greater use of ferry services across Penang.
In conjunction with the celebration, the commission is also introducing the “Kids Go Free | Aidilfitri Special” campaign at the Penang Ferry Museum.
Malaysian children aged 12 and below will enjoy free admission from March 23 to 25, supporting efforts to promote heritage education while enhancing the museum’s role as a cultural attraction.
