PUTRAJAYA, March 18 – The government is expected to make a final decision on implementing a work-from-home (WFH) policy for the public sector after Hari Raya Aidilfitri, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
He confirmed that the Cabinet has reviewed an initial report on flexible working arrangements, but further refinements are needed before it is presented to the National Economic Action Council (NEAC).
Fahmi stressed that coordination is crucial due to the size of the public workforce, with priority given to non-critical sectors. Essential services such as healthcare and education will not be affected.
While private companies may adopt similar arrangements independently, the government aims to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach before implementation.
