KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 — Former human resources minister Steven Sim Chee Keong has defended his pro-worker record following a High Court ruling that found he acted with bias during a past trade dispute.
Sim stressed that his policies and actions throughout his tenure consistently supported workers, despite criticism from some employers. The court ruled that Sim failed to remain neutral in a dispute between banks and the National Union of Bank Employees.
While declining to comment further due to ongoing legal proceedings, he reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding workers’ interests and maintaining a people-first approach in governance.
