KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — The team behind Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger has confirmed the permanent closure of its IPC Shopping Centre outlet, citing rapid expansion and unsuitable location conditions as key factors.

In a statement, the brand admitted it “grew too quickly” after launching 1.5 years ago, leading to decisions that were not ideal.

The IPC outlet, which featured mostly outdoor seating, faced frequent complaints over heat and lack of air conditioning, creating an uncomfortable dining experience for customers.

While acknowledging challenges, the company said it does not place full blame on the venue, noting that the food and beverage industry remains highly demanding.

All affected full-time staff have received severance. Moving forward, the brand will scale down operations to focus on quality, efficiency, and better product-market fit.

Existing outlets at Pavilion Bukit Bintang, MyTown, Johor Bahru Mid Valley Southkey, Central i-City, and KLIA2 will continue operating.

The company also revealed plans to improve perceived value, responding to feedback that meals were overpriced for primarily fried rice offerings.

New menu updates will include more complete meals with added protein and sides, alongside expanded offerings beyond fried rice.

By adopting a leaner structure, the brand aims to strengthen quality control and deliver a more satisfying dining experience to customers.
