NILAI, March 24 — Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has urged society and families to stop stigmatising Persons Under Supervision (ODS) who have completed their sentences, stressing they should not face a “second prison” of cynicism and insults.
Speaking at the Penerapan Nilai-Nilai Murni programme at the Mantin Inmate Reintegration Centre, he said the government is shifting focus from punishment to full rehabilitation through community-based programmes.
Including Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), culinary and tahfiz courses. About 500 ODS are currently undergoing vocational and spiritual training at the centre, while the Corporate Smart Internship initiative.
