BAYAN LEPAS, March 24 — InvestPenang convened a closed-door Advanced Packaging and ATE Campus Collaboration Workshop, gathering nine multinational firms including Intel, Microsoft and ASE.
With 12 pre-qualified local automation, test and equipment (ATE) companies. The session aimed to align advanced packaging requirements with local capabilities ahead of the Penang ATE Campus launch in the coming months.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the initiative would strengthen Malaysia’s semiconductor ecosystem by accelerating localisation and enhancing supply chain resilience.
The campus will focus on innovation, shared labs, and skills development to support next-generation semiconductor manufacturing.
