ALOR SETAR, March 24 — Langkawi International Airport (LGK) has been named Best Airport in Asia Pacific (2–5 million passengers) at the 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards by Airports Council International, marking its fifth consecutive win.
The ASQ Awards are based on real-time passenger surveys assessing service quality, efficiency, cleanliness and comfort. In 2025, LGK handled 2.9 million passengers, including 300,000 international travellers, reinforcing its role as a key tourism gateway.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd managing director Mohd Izani Ghani said the achievement reflects sustained service excellence as Malaysia gears up for Visit Malaysia 2026. He added that LGK’s consistent recognition strengthens the country’s tourism appeal.
And positions Langkawi as a strategic hub for resort and nature-based travel in the Asia Pacific region.
