GEORGE TOWN, March 24 – Police in Penang have arrested two individuals following a viral video showing an alleged indecent act at a Chinese cemetery in Batu Gantung.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on March 22, 2026, is being investigated under multiple laws, including provisions related to obscene behaviour and improper online content.
Authorities said the case came to light after a 69-year-old local man lodged a police report. The suspects, a 37-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man.
Both were arrested separately on March 23 in George Town and Bayan Lepas. Both individuals, believed to be locals, have admitted involvement and will be remanded for further investigation.
Police have urged the public to refrain from sharing explicit or offensive content online, warning that such actions could lead to legal consequences.
