GEORGE TOWN, March 25 – The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) has assured that the state’s water supply will remain stable for at least two months despite the ongoing heatwave.
Chief Executive Officer Datuk K. Pathmanathan said water levels at Sungai Muda, Penang’s main source, remain above alert thresholds, with no immediate concerns over supply disruptions.
He added that all major dams are at healthy levels, including Air Itam, Teluk Bahang and Mengkuang dams. With controlled usage strategies, supplies could last between two to eight months depending on demand.
PBAPP credited long-term planning measures for ensuring water security, even as dry conditions persist in neighbouring regions.
