JAKARTA, March 27 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will travel to Jakarta today for a special visit to meet Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, focusing on the escalating crisis in West Asia and strengthening bilateral ties.

The visit follows a recent phone conversation between the two leaders and comes amid growing global concern over tensions involving Iran and Palestine.

Discussions are expected to centre on diplomatic efforts to de-escalate conflicts, safeguard global trade routes, and assess economic and security implications for the region.

Both leaders will also explore ways to enhance Malaysia-Indonesia cooperation ahead of upcoming bilateral engagements.

Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry said the meeting underscores the need for coordinated regional responses and highlights the importance of ASEAN unity in maintaining peace, stability, and economic resilience amid global uncertainty.
