KOTA TINGGI, March 29 — Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Khairy Jamaluddin are among several former Umno leaders who have applied to rejoin Umno.
Their applications will be reviewed at the party’s Supreme Council meeting on April 17, Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin confirmed.
Though no decision is expected to be announced immediately. Other applicants include Shahril Sufian Hamdan, Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Sharif, and Datuk Maulizan Bujang.
Suspended or sacked for prior party offences, the former leaders’ returns reflect Umno’s “Rumah Bangsa” spirit and ongoing efforts to welcome members back.
