KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 — The Education Ministry is stepping up efforts to ease teachers’ workload under the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2026–2035.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the plan prioritises enabling teachers to focus on teaching and learning (PdP).
Supported by an 80:20 policy that allocates 80% of time to core teaching duties and 20% to non-teaching tasks.
Since 2023, the ministry has introduced measures to support educators, including deploying 20,997 volunteers for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
Implementing the MySTEP programme for teacher assistants, and appointing hostel wardens’ aides. Fadhlina noted that teacher well-being.
Also depends on work environment, emotional support, and professional development, with the ministry committed to creating a more sustainable and balanced teaching ecosystem.
