GEORGE TOWN, April 1 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Penang contingent recorded zero house break-ins during Op Selamat 2026 conducted from March 19 to 24 in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Authorities received 474 “balik kampung” notifications via the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) app and carried out 13,953 patrol operations.
Contributing to effective crime prevention. Traffic enforcement was also intensified, with 10,681 summonses issued, marking an increase from the previous year.
Four fatal accidents were recorded within target limits. Police credited proactive strategies and strong public cooperation for the success.
