PUTRAJAYA, April 2 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has offered to cover travel expenses for political analyst James Chai to return to Malaysia.
To assist in an ongoing investigation linked to a RM1.1 billion semiconductor project involving UK-based ARM Holdings.
Authorities confirmed that 17 witnesses, including government officials, have already provided statements, with more expected to be called.
MACC has given Chai a two-week deadline to appear after he failed to respond to earlier notices. The commission warned that further non-compliance may lead to international enforcement action.
It stressed that cooperation is mandatory and reiterated its commitment to conducting a transparent, evidence-based investigation.
