GEORGE TOWN, April 2 — The Penang government has no plans to implement work-from-home (WFH) arrangements for its civil servants, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.
He noted that the state executive council found WFH unsuitable for all roles and determined there was no urgent need to introduce the policy at this time.
The decision comes despite a federal push led by Anwar Ibrahim to roll out WFH in stages for selected civil servants amid global uncertainties and fuel concerns.
Chow said Penang had reviewed the proposal but opted against adopting it, citing operational practicality and current conditions in the state.
