KOTA BHARU, April 3 — Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan warned that if the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) does not issue an official response regarding joining Perikatan Nasional.
Their silence will be considered a rejection. MIC’s application to join PN, submitted in November 2025, was approved in December, with a formal offer sent on March 23.
Takiyuddin noted that although MIC’s Central Working Committee decided on March 25 not to accept the offer, no official reply has been conveyed.
He added that MIC’s decision will not affect PN’s current strength of 74 parliamentary seats and emphasized that joining PN remains voluntary.
