KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested two men, including a managing director.

Over an alleged RM1 million bribery scheme to suppress a corruption report involving a sand supply company.

The suspects, both in their 50s, were detained in separate operations in Penang. Sources said the main suspect, an unemployed man.

Was caught in a sting operation while receiving three cheques totalling RM1 million at a restaurant. He is believed to have threatened to lodge a report with the MACC.

If the payment was not made. Authorities also seized four mobile phones during the operation. MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya confirmed the arrests.

Adding that investigations are ongoing under the MACC Act 2009.
