NIBONG TEBAL, April 5 — Chow Kon Yeow officiated the groundbreaking of the Large-Scale Solar 5 (LSS5) project in Byram.
Marking a major step in strengthening Penang’s sustainable energy agenda. The RM103 million project, with a capacity of 29.99MWp, aims to accelerate clean energy adoption and enhance energy security.
Chow said the project supports Malaysia’s renewable energy targets and aligns with Penang2030. Expected to be operational by July 2027.
LSS5 will generate green power, create skilled jobs, and stabilise the grid. Developed by Penang Development Corporation through Solar Voltech Sdn. Bhd..
